Sleep apnea and TMJ

Sleep apnea often goes undiagnosed. Choking, gasping, snoring and disturbed sleep are among the most common symptoms. If you think you may have it, seek medical attention, and ask us about oral appliances.

What we offer

Oral appliance therapy
A custom-made appliance helps open the airway by moving the lower jaw forward, and some also position the tongue forward.
Teeth grinding
Most people don't know they grind at night. We may notice cracked or eroded teeth at an exam, and may recommend a custom device.
TMJ
Most people with TMJ problems have a hard time sleeping. Treatments can include night guards, stretching and massage, and Botox for muscle relaxation, among others.
